How APCE Is Organized

APCE's organizational structure is designed to combine sound governance with collaborative ministry. Together, our leaders, volunteers, and covenantal partners work to fulfill APCE's mission of connecting, enriching, empowering, and sustaining Christian educators.

Executive Team

The Executive Team serves as APCE's legal Board of Directors, providing fiduciary oversight, policy leadership, and operational stewardship. Working in partnership with the Executive Director, the Executive Team ensures the organization remains financially healthy, strategically focused, and faithful to its mission.

Team Leadership Council (TLC)

The Team Leadership Council (TLC) is the collaborative and creative hub of APCE. Bringing together leaders from each Mission Team along with representatives from our Advisory Councils, the TLC is where ideas are shared, ministries are coordinated, priorities are discerned, and new initiatives take shape. Together, the Executive Team and TLC provide the accountability and shared leadership that guide APCE's ministry.

Mission Teams

APCE's Mission Teams are organized around the four verbs of our mission, with the Annual Event Team bringing the entire community together each year for learning, worship, fellowship, and renewal.

  • Annual Event
  • The Annual Event Team plans and coordinates APCE's annual conference, creating meaningful opportunities for worship, learning, networking, and community-building while working closely with volunteers, sponsors, presenters, and local hosts.
  • Connect
  • The Connect Team strengthens relationships across APCE by welcoming new members, supporting affinity networks, encouraging peer-to-peer connections, and fostering collaboration among Christian educators, covenantal partners, seminaries, and ministry organizations.
  • Enrich
  • The Empower Team equips Christian educators by creating and curating practical resources, sharing best practices, and supporting innovative approaches to faith formation in congregations and ministry settings.
  • Empower
  • The Enrich Team develops opportunities for lifelong learning through workshops, Mirco-Credintals, certifications, online learning, leadership development, and other educational experiences that help Christian educators grow in knowledge and ministry.
  • Sustain
  • The Sustain Team strengthens APCE's future by cultivating generosity, developing strategic partnerships, expanding funding opportunities, and promoting the long-term health and vitality of the organization.

Advisory Councils

Two Advisory Councils help ensure APCE remains connected, inclusive, and responsive to the wider church.

  • Denominational Advisory Council
  • Representatives appointed by APCE's covenantal partners provide insight, strengthen ecumenical relationships, and help ensure APCE remains responsive to the needs of the denominations we serve.
  • Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Advisory Council
  • The JEDI Advisory Council helps APCE live into its commitment to becoming a more just, equitable, diverse, and inclusive organization, offering guidance and perspective that shape the organization's ministries and decision-making.
